You refering to "Atun" and Aunksanaken ? pardon my spelling. She and her brother tried to change worship in Egypt to the sun god and after a short life, their remains were scoured off off temples, etc. and lost for ages......

Yep
Akhenaton - In the 14th century BC this Egyptian pharaoh undertook a religious reform by displacing all the traditional deities with the sun-god Aton.
He moved his capital from Thebes to present-day Tell el-Amarna (about 200 miles away) to escape established religious powers and make a fresh start. Nefertity - Queen-consort of Egyptian king, Ankhenaten. Tutankhamun became king after the death of Akhenaton the religious reformer who died in 1362 BC. He married Akhenaton's third daughter to solidify his claim to the throne

I think maybe they just liked diversity and some change now and then. They almost had a god for everything and every animal they could imagine.

The Romans were clever devils in dealing with foreign gods. They just took them all in. Very smart to avoid any conflict.

You just come here to advertise your music, don't you? Why don't I just start telling everyone to go listen to Picaresque? There's a track on there about lovers falling...sorta like Orpheus, in so far as death and descent are involved.
(or is it a rapist and a victim?) We both go down together...

Well, one of the reasons I started liking mythology so much was BECAUSE OF Berlioz and other composers, whose music on the subject I happen to like.
