Strider Tolien and other mythology

Has anyone ever read "Tolkien's Ring" by David Day?
It is quite interesting. I was reading chapter six dealing with similarities between Aragorn, Arthur, and Sigart. (though I honestly have no idea who Sigart is, so if you know can you tell me please)
All three were orphaned sons of great war heroes and heirs of a kindgom. All three were raised by foriegn fathers. All three wanted to marry very beautiful maidens but had to go through tough obstacles to win them over. Or in Aragorn's case win over Arwen's father.
Arthur had to win over Guinevere who unfortunatly betrayed him and becme a nun because of it. And Sigart's wife commets suicide.
As we all already know Arwen
marries Aragorn and dies a human death not following her father to gain immortality in the undying lands.

As well as all three had unbreakable swords. Well Arthur's sword breaks when he makes a stupid move on Sir Pallien. And Sigart and Aragorn both can be defeted by a magical foe.
Thats all I have learned so far. Just thought this would be interesting to you all for it was to me.
I have more linkeges to post later.

Oh Sicirus,
You have asked the question I have been waiting for . . . yes, I love David Day's book, I got it one lucky day at Halfprice Books.
it's both fascinating and useful.

You asked who Sigurd is: he's the hero of my book The Ring of the Dark Elves. He's the most famous hero of the Vikings, whose story has been told in many versions, spanning 12 centuries, from Iceland to Britain to Germany, from the Elder Edda to the Nibelungenlied to Willliam Morris' Sigurd the Volsung. He's the original owner of the Sword that was Reforged and the enchanted ring with a curse on it.

Sorry, I get carried away - I love this story. My book's available now at barnesandnoble.com, if you want to read my version of it.

Strider

I borrowed mine from the library when I was looking up Religion links to Tolkien's books. Unfortunatly I can hasdly find any and Have found only one website and a book by Jim Ware and Kurt Bruner called "Finding God In the lotr" quite funny really. I changed my project to both religious and ancient lore. I found greek and alot of ancieent lore that I liked. Its a four pager though so I will have plenty to write. I love David Day's book. Especialy how well it links things. I love the linking of GAndalf and ODin and MErlin. MErlin was half human and half elf which is interesting. Aswell as the two deaths and partings of Arthur and Frodo.
For the thread of who is the real hero of tlotr then you must know David's opinion is Mr. Frodo. And all the hobbits on the hjourney. Its funny that David managed to define all the parts the hobbits have performed in the advance of the destruction of the ring. He linked Pip to the Destruction of Sarumon by the coaxing of the ents showing them how much they have lost out of the blind spot of their eyes.
Merry with Eowyn and the defeat of the witch King. Frodo and the ring and Sam and the spider and partly Gollum.
Quite a convincing bunch of deeds to declare hobbits the rea; hero's. But I still love Aragorn and his deeds.
