I didn't know where else to post it.

I believe there was is a quote in Smith of Watton Major. It was something like:

he saw the elves coming back from war from some dark shore and there being a terrible sheen in their eyes.

Can someone provide me with the exact quote.

I remember he sees a ship crash upon the ground, and the eleven mariners that disembark from it are fair and terrible, so he hides.

Yes, Dyl, that was actually my conclusion as well. However, I do on some rare occasions manage to say something funny. I'm sure the laws of probability figure in there somewhere...

Of course, the fact that I can laugh at myself assures I won't be too troubled when others do...

I just acquired Smith last week myself. It's a very nice short story, quite touching.
