Yes. I did realise this. I was just trying to get it back on topic. As I said, I think that the Balrogs are the most powerful. (maybe Tom Bombadil but his power outside the Old Forest is questionable, I think. Please correct me)

If the Onodrim would fall to Belryg, that does not prove that they are less powerful, only that they have a weakness, which can be exploited.

Tom B. power really was not all that outside the old forest. it is stated in FOTR- it also says that he was his own master- meaning that nothing had power over him( even the ring) in the old forest.

In the case of a balrog vs a dragon: the balrog would almost definantly win because the balrogs were long ago breeded by Melkor to drive dragons into battle- meaning that they had some advantge over them.
