Guys, you really do need to stay on topic. Isn't there already a thread about pets?
I did skip school twice (once all day and once for one class), both in high school. My mom would occasionally let me skip a little, but I don't consider that skipping since I had parental permission!
The two times I skipped were: the one class one was when I hadn't completed a project I was supposed to present. I was very bad. I just hung out in the bathroom the whole time.
The other time was a spur of the moment thing. A guy on the bus said, hey a bunch of us are skipping today , want to come? so I did, and it was lame. we just sat int he woods next to the school all day. I liked school enough that I wanted to go, at least to socialize!
I may have skipped one other time, but I don't remember the circumstances. I don't think I EVER missed a class in college, even the day my cat died!

I skipped school a lot in my junior years. Then when I left home, I had to take some time off school due to bad hangovers, and other stuff. What can I say? I was a silly 16 year old unleashed upon the world. By senior year I had sorted myself out though, and got an A Bursary. I skipped classes all the time at uni. I think I must have turned up to about five classes the whole semester in my last year.

at my school they hunt you down if they find out you are missing. Once my friend Caroline had spent thursday night at my house because we were going to go to Dc with our Girl Scout troop the next day.
So we were playing video games and the phone rang. I answered it and it was the secretary of our school wondering where I was. my mom wasn't home so i just said that i was at home. then this massive explosion goes off in the vidoe game.

we both started laughing and i hung up the phone. i had my mom call the school when she got back...

I remember one day in my first year of college. I was chosen as head of class (nobody else wanted the job!) and one day I had to meet with the heads of the other classes to piece together the exam schedule. But it had to happen during classhours. So we (myself and another head of class) slipped in the classroom during a break between hours. Unfortunately there was only one seat left open in the back which the boy took. So I had to go down to the frontrows to get a seat. And off course the teacher saw me. He asked where I had been and I said head of class-meeting. After which he half seriously asked "Ah, so you weren't skipping classes?" On which I matter of factly replied. "Sir, I have NEVER skipped classes yet." He couldn't find an answer for that! It was quite funny.

By then it still was true but I've skipped a couple later on, either when they were too early in the morning and when you didn't really have to be present to understand the matter. Or when we needed to get some group-work done behind the computer.

I skipped once to go to a movie, and then we discovered that we had the wrong showtime, that it really started three hours later...so we hung out in an arcade. I got a massage out of it. That was fun.

Nope, that's me....couldn't find a smilie that looked even vaguely like a rabbit

I skipped school a helluva lot after I was about 13.....I always got good grades tho' (the secret is to acquire a copy of the years curriculum, then you can always be ahead of the game....why spend days sitting through boring lectures when you can read up on it at your own speed? then you only really neeed to be in school for examinations )

Various people kept replacing it without me knowing. Being a little kid, I fell for it. So I claimed that we had the miraculous long-lived fish.

oh and skipping school is most defintally justified when England are playing Tunisia in the world cup in 1998 and they decide to screen the match at 1.15 in the afternoon.....no one turned up 2 school i even bumped into a few skiving teachers down the pub that day

*bursts out laughing* Silly teachers!

I like school, though, and i don't want to skip. Unless, of course, I have a presenatation to give, but I go to such a small school it's not worth getting busted.

Too true. The Cucumber is so mean, she'd probably throw me down the incinerater if she found out I'd skipped. I mean really. Arriana skips class a lot. Like, she'll miss four days of geo one week and be all mad cause the teacher didn't personally drive to her house and give her the homework.

When is skipping classes justified?

When you have an exam, and haven't studied anything, why go to school and fail.
Instead stay home, study and invent an excuse to get a better grade.

“What does the term american refers to” asked the boy, and the wise man answered: “Lets look at the dictionary then.”
As an adjective American is:
1. Of or relating to the United States of America or its people, language, or culture.
2. Of or relating to North or South America, the West Indies, or the Western Hemisphere.
As a noun American is:
A native or inhabitant of America.
A citizen of the United States.

Then the boy asked, “What is America then?”, and the wise man looked at the dictionary again:
1. The United States.
2. also the A·mer·i·cas. The landmasses and islands of North America, Central America, and South America.

Confused, the boy asked, “Does the term american refers solely to a us citizen or to any person in North, Central or South America?”
The wise man replied: “What do you think?”, and the boy answered: “It is clear to me that while the term american is used to refers to us citizens, one can also use it to refer to any person who is from that continent too,” the boy thought for a while and asked the wise man, “Am I right?”, and he replied: “But of course.”
The boy wondered, why is it that some people refuse to acknowledge the fact that the term american refers not only to US citizens but to anyone of the American continent?, but then sadly, the boy understood, that it is the calamity of ignorance.
