I probably won't be able to go as I am hella busy this summer.

Might I suggest though that you meet at a restaurant? Find one that has private (or tatami if it's a Japanese restaurant) room and reserve that.

Then people could just order a lot of tea if they couldn't afford to eat out, and you'd have a private, indoor, not too expensive room.

All you can eat sushi is pretty good value too.

You guys pick a date and I'll try to come. Can't promise anything though. It would be super awesome! Meeting mooters!

I’m sure that over the years some mooters have gotten together, but nothing this big since “EntCon 2001” :P

Maybe some of these details will help you guys in planning your event.

Several members gathered in NJ to watch FotR and otherwise meet. Those came stayed at local hotels or motels. Besides the theater and a place to eat, we spent time at my house. NJ was chosen because that’s where bmilder (founder and owner of entmoot and tolkien trail, and my brother) lives.

I think that this just occurred over a period of 2 days. We watched FotR in theaters, went out to a buffet place to eat. We did all sorts of things at my house like play risk, chat, etc (LOTR board game was too confusing). Then we had breakfast the next morning and then everyone left.

Members that attended 5 (unless im forgetting some): bmilder, HOBBIT, Jersey Devil (who at the time had just been a member for 2-3 months), Anduin, and Darth Tater. Many more wanted to come, but they ended up not making it.

Before EntCon 2001, bmilder and I had met Inoldonil, IronParrot, and Darth Tater all in person in real life (on 3 separate occasions). What other moot real life encounters have there been? I know that there must have been some, but I don’t recall hearing of any others. Family members don’t count.

For this event, how many people do you expect and what will be the general ages of the members attending? For members 18, if they go their parents should be there too.

Maybe it is about time to have another "EntCon" type of thing and maybe the Entmoot shirt will be out by then. :P Unfortunately this is on the other side of the Country. I won't be able to attend for sure, but this does sound interesting.

This will be just a small mooter con for anyone who can make it, but we really need to have a big one, and I don't think I can organize it.

I can make Entmoot shirts. I think I can get them printed for cheep too, so maybe we should start a design thread.

There already is an entmoot t-shirt design thread. And a design was chosen - a design by Earniel. The t-shirt release keeps getting delayed, but it should be out soon to order on the tolkien trail cafe press store.

I dont think this is going to be that big, Maybe EA can come, probably goldie, maybe Tano and EG if they appear out of the mists. I think it will mostly consist of us mooters in seattle that know eachother already.

Only the Tolkientrail has my permission to reproduce the Entmoot logo I drew for that occasion. But with luck it should be available in the Tolkientrail store before the Seattle convention.

So have we set a date? And for all of the other mooters who wish to meet... they could set up a few more meetings, strategically located all over the place... if we all had it at the same time... I don't know... maybe we could film it.... (I'm just brainstorming here...) or we could set it up so it will be at the exact same time, no matter where in the world people are (I mean the other conventions could compensate for the time zone difference) and like, web-cam it..... I don't know...

um, there's a bunch spread out over Europe, I think
