I'd jump so high you'd have to s**** me off the...non existant ceiling. But then after someone pryed(sp)me off the ceiling I would ask them to sit down. Maybe doing a Helen keller thing where you point to an object and then say a westron words like Mellon or Ghash or Yrch or maybe Ancalima and see if they would contradict you and teach you the really westron word.

I would just tune Gandalf: "Olorin ol' buddy!!" Of course, he wouldn't know what "ol' buddy" means, but hearing his true name might bring him back from the dark side.

He would then implant benevolent thoughts into the rest of the fellowship.

Then we'd communicate by drawing pictures in the sand.

With twigs.

um, I hate to mention this, but I think the comman tongue is actually english. In Lorien when Galadriel gives Sam the box, she says: "the G is for Galadriel, but it can stand for garden in your tongue..."

so communication migt not be an issue.

The Fellowship showing up near me would be a disaster too. . .

With me only knowing a few phrases of Quenya and Sindarin that I would speak very badly. . .but if they could somehow speak English, I would also take them to the movie! And ask if Balrogs have wings, and find out once and for all what the shape of elf ears is. . .well, I could see that even if they didn't speak english. . .before they killed me thinking I was an orc!
