LotR and Harry Potter notwithsttanding, is it just me, or have there been WAY too many sequels out in the past couple of years? it's like you can't go to the theaters without seeing a "2" after the movie titles. can't they come up with some original ideas?!

I agree with you. Is it just me or has Disney only come up with about 4 new movies every year, the rest are all sequels? That annoys me so much. They murder all the decent movies with annoying crappy sequels. Grrr

This whole sequel thing is so shocking...especially because there have been a zillion sequels every year for the past twenty years.

It's nothing new.

What sequels did disney release this past year in theaters? I think all their stuff was new pretty much.

But yeah, their sequels of late of really sucked. And whats with in the past few years coming out with straight to video sequels of all their good movies? They are most inferior. Oh well.

Hollywood has been devoid of original plot ideas, with a few exceptions, for about ten years.

If they're not making crap sequels, then they're (badly) adapting the plot from a book, or re-writing one of their unoriginal ideas for another boring movie.

Case in point: Torque. I have a feeling that has been done before... I get the impression it's like a movie of chase scenes.
