this reminds me of a summer i spent in italy, working for a company that supplied refrigerators and other household appliances for one of the major retail stores here in the U.S. -- they had someone who would translate the italian instructions to an extremely interesting version of english words and phrasings, and then it was my job to translate that version to usable/readable americanese.

some of their translations were quite hilarious!
