tolkien's warfare
How realistic, in your opinion, was the way tolkien described his warfare, when compared to actual medieval warfare?

i think it alot of it was based on the medieval warfare. Like the way in the third book how the orcs dug those trenches of fire and and the introduction of the missiles and stuff like that. Tolkien lived in the time of the 2nd world war and fought, i think, so that would have contriputed with the missiles idea anyway.
