Shelob or Aragog? (maybe spoilers)

Ok everyone else is doin this so I thought hey why not jump on the band wagon! I csn't believe no else has thought of it...I can't believe I didn't think of it. But who would win Shelob or Aragog? Shelob's got a good chance since she's not blind but Aragog is bigger and has more...kin I geuss you could call it. Any way anyone else got thoughts.

If it was just Aragog and Shelob, Shelob would win. I think Shelob would still win with Aragogs kin there though. Good question Fim.

Shelob would win. She's cleverer and cunning, and she has the poison sting. Aragog has no chance whatsoever.

If it was just Aragog vs. Shelob, then Shelob would win, no competition. But add a few dozen kin on Aragog's side, and we'll have a real fight on our hands. Still, my bet lies with Shelob.

And the people spak and what what they did so spak was Shelob. What about Ungoliant vs. Shelob? I'd have to say Ungoliant. But Shelob would win against Aragog.

I agree. Aragog is amoral, neither good nor evil. Shelob is completely evil, so that would give her an edge. On the other hand, Aragog has many other spiders to back him up.

Yes but the question wasn't "Shelob V Aragog and relatives" was it?

Good point. I think it goes without saying, then, that Aragog would get stomped. Sorry Hagrid.

Unless Sam's wound mauled her forever, I'm afraid Aragog is toast. x_x Everyone pretty much agreed that he'd be finished without backup.

Well he would have size on his side. Ofcourse Shelob would be more agile (sp?). But then again I suppose we should factor in her injury pretend like it did maul her forever. What do you guys think then? I think it would be close...so much that it would be a draw.

Whould size be a factor? I always pictured Shelob as much larger, or at least heavier. I guess we can't ask them to stand shoulder to shoulder.

Well I did picture her as much larger but...oh well I think we all agree Shelob would kick butt.

Shelob

Shelob would just have to at least sting Aragog and then stomp and the kin. Shelob would win.

Younger? Shelob is ancient compared to Aragog.

I'm sure we all agree that Aragog would get smeared.

Well yes SHelob is much older than Aragog but I think I know what Legolas was getting at...just read the parts in the books that descirbe the mfor my source....or watch the movies they did a pretty good job....anyway they tolkien described Shelob was a spider who was ancient but still....young, for lack of a better word. Aragog however was described as old and even shown as old and sort of run down in the movie. Hope that helped some.
