A Rose's Last Wish

It’s always the one you the love the most
That you hurt the most unintentionally
Its that you crave when no ones’ around
The one you see in your dreams
The one you’ve been waiting for…
His smile lights up your face tells you that dawns awakening the sky
He’s the one that puts fire into your eyes
He’s the one that can make you smile forever.
He’s the one you can’t live without.
If only he knew how you felt.
‘Cause he’s the one I’ve been craving for.
He’s the one that I could never tell how much I care
He’s the one that knows everything about me
He’s the one that can see into my soul,
He’s the one that opens my heart
He’s the one that hold the key
I never want to loose him
I never want to forget him
I’d cry every single tear I have if he ever left me
I only wish he knew.
You raise me up when I’m down
You cry my name when no one else will
You stand up for me when I can barely crawl
You’re the one you just haven’t noticed how much I care,
You always the hurt the one you love the most no matter what you do.
I don’t want to stop loving you
I don’t want you to love me, for I don’t want to hurt you.
But the way I crave you, is a way undeniable
I wish I could tell how I feel, but it seems so hard
I don’t want to fail you.
Hoping the stars will shine my way
Hoping they’ll lead me to you another way
Without having to tell you first how I feel

You’re the only one I need; you’re the only one I care about
You’re the only one I crave; you’re the only one that can save me
Save me from this bottomless pit.

Forget the Rules
I made a promise, to myself, to my heart, to my soul.
Put a wall up in every aspect of my life.
Made rules to keep it up and make it strong.
Took a peek when I was nine.
Decided it wasn’t worth it.
Took another look just a year ago,
Decided to take the walk in the world
And keep my wall as was needed.
Then he came along and made a dent in my wall,
For he asked, “Will you go out with me,”
My wall began to crumble at that moment.
Thought my wall would keep me safe but it failed at his words
He was the first one to ask me out,
I began to cry as I looked at him,
His bright blue eyes a shimmer.
He asked me why I cry at his words.
I told him the rules that I made so long ago.
The ones that said, I’d never love so I wouldn’t have to feel pain,
Pain of the heart, pain of my soul…
And this is what he said,
“Can you look into my eyes and tell me no?
Can you tell me that I don’t love you the way I do?
You cannot tell me you don’t feel the way I do,
I see the same look in your eyes that is in mine.”
“I can not tell you no, but I’m afraid…
Those rules are the only thing I have.”
“Forget the Rules and be with me.”
“Forget the Rules and where will I be?”
A simple answer did he give, “with me…”
“But if….” I trailed off and ended, “it fails my wall is gone.”
“I’ll be your wall, I’ll never let you go.”
“But I’m nothing without rules or a promise.”
“Then make me a promise…”
“A promise of what?”
“The promise that you won’t build that wall,
To hide behind, to look into my eyes and forget the rules.”
“How can I forget the rules, that I so solemnly made?”
“Forget the rules for me, you know I won’t hurt you,
You can see it in my eyes.”
I looked long and hard into his eyes,
Gently said, “Forget the rules,”
“And keep the promise,” He finished.
I nodded my head and began to cry again.
“Now why are you crying?” He asked.
I laughed and said I didn’t know.
But he knew deep inside what I couldn’t say…
“Forget the rules, keep the promise.”
“Forget the rules, keep the promise,” I repeated.
He pulled me close and kissed me lightly on the lips.
“Forget the rules!” I laughed harder when he pulled away.
He looked at me quizzically.
“Really kiss me, if you don’t want me to build my wall.”
And he did, and we’ve been happy ever since
And when something seems so tough,
He pulls me close and says, “Forget the Rules keep the promise.”
