Breakfast Food

What do you like to eat for breakfast? Or do you like to eat at all? If you don't eat breakfast at all, why not?

I'm not a big fan of the traditional eggs, bacon, sausage, and pancakes for breakfast. I'll eat breakfast tacos: egg & potato; or egg and soyrizo (a vegetarian alternative to Mexican chorizo). I've often eaten breakfast at a Mexican restaurant and ordered tortilla soup for breakfast. If they're willing to make it, I'll eat it. But mostly I like to eat pizza for breakfast. IMO, any food that is good enough for lunch or dinner is good enough for breakfast. In a pinch, though, I'll eat oatmeal or granola with soymilk.

When I was a kid, we ate crepes for breakfast a lot.

Edit: I'm also curious as to what other cultures eat for breakfast. I live in the US (for those that do not know).

Well I have a Slim Fast for breakfast, and so does Anglorfin, even though we're both sickly looking skinny. It's nice and quick and energizing.

But if I'm up early enough on weekends, I really like pankakes, or eggs with some type of meat. Most of the time, though, if I eat breakfast (as oposed to drink it) I'll have a Mexican Hot Pocket, then a bunch of Slim Jims.

I like to have a light breakfast. I usually have cereals for breakfast, or bread and marmalade.
But I guess we eat the same stuff for breakfast in Scandinavia as you do in the US.

Taters, of course.

But the best breakfast ever is a full-fat fry-up. Bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, tattie scones, beans, served at 7am in a greasy spoon cafe across the road when you've got a killer hangover.

Coffee, cigarettes, and the newspaper.

What can I say, I'm sooooooo nutritious!

Somehow I believe you're British?

I MUST have tea in the morning. Preferably Earl Gray or Lady Gray. And I absolutely must have newspapers. Then I usually eat Wasa knekkebrød (what the heck is the English word for 'knekkebrød'?) or bread with cheese.

It is called crispbread, I believe. Great to hear you're eating Swedish Wasa crispbread

Uh.... oh my... LOL!

Ah, to each his own. My brother will eat more or less the first thing that crosses his path in the mornings... spaghetti, burritos, buffalo shrimp - whatever's foremost in the fridge. I can't watch!

Either yogurt and granola, or cereal, or a bagel with cream cheese is what I usually have for breakfast. Sometimes I'll have eggs, or if I'm in a hurry, a breakfast shake.

Pizza's great in the morning! But i like a lot of unusual things like that in the morning lol

It varies a lot i love the full English Fry-Up but i have that like once in a blue moon coz it's nice but i don't like it very greesy it makes me feel sick.
Then there's the healthy options of toast which i usually have

But then sometimes i don't bother but i always have orange juice in the morning very refreshing!

Wow that was a long post just to say what i have for breakfast lol.

I can't eat anything too heavy early in the morning, or it makes me feel sick - even things like muesli. I usually have cereal, with yoghurt, and soy milk. If I have time, I might make herbal tea to go with that.

Just coffee please. Food makes me sleepy. I like to drink my coffee, then kick butt and get a lot of work done, THEN relax for a meal. Eating means slowing down and relaxing for me...so if I just woke up, why bother! I eat late of a night and my stomach is content in the morning. When I do get hungry for lunch...stay out of my way!

I usually don't eat anything, 'cause I'm always running late. But when I get to eat breakfast in a restaurant, I love biscuits and sausage cream gravy.

He he. Is it that obvious? * dies of heart attack *

Today's lesson from The Gaffer:

If you don't eat something for breakfast, your body starts metabolising protein, i.e. it burns itself up. It's bad for you...

Here endeth the lesson.

*decides to stay away from Artanis in the mornings at all costs*

Auch, poor Celeborn, his woman is a man-eater...

As for my breakfast, it's usually just a few slices of bread with some chocolate paste or marmelade and a cup of tea. Or cereals, but that's rather rare.

If I wake up later (which I like best) I usually don't bother with breakfast and just wait with eating till noon. That usually only happens on holidays.
