People who don't know how to read literature tend to make stupid claims, period.

I'm not saying that homosexuals don't know how to read literature - I'm applying this to everyone and anyone who makes unfounded statements about a work of fiction.

Though out of interest, Lady of the Wood, could I see your source? I'm curious...

I heard it on the radio. I think somebody in America said that Harry has all the traits of being gay. Obviously the fact that he kissed Cho in the OoTP and has liked her for years counts for nothing.

I'm really quite disgusted at how people are claiming he's the new gay figure. And I think turning a great piece of literature into a big yaoi fest is gross, too. Yaoi is for ANIME AND MANGA people! ANIME AND MANGA!!!
Anyway, if people will think of Harry as a gay figure, that's fine with me, but if it turns into a huge "Harry is Gay" bonanza, I'll be really ticked off.

Now that I've gone back and read my post I'm surpprised you could understand it.Anyway the Harry/Draco thing has gone on for years. I read about it some where a long time ago but I forgot where. I've never thought of the Harry/Ron thing and I never want to again. But it's a shame Draco is evil he's kinda cute!

You know, even if J.K. wanted to, she wouldnt' write Harry as being gay. Why? She'd lose massive amounts of readers. And I think she's still playing to the audience enough to care about that. So no matter who Harry's going to hook up with in the end, it's going to be a girl, because that's mainstream and no one's going to go get all upset for reasons that are very very silly. Enough people are saying Harry Potter is the devil without adding that to it. Capiche.

Though I still think Draco has something for Harry and that's why he's so hostile towards him...but then again I always do way too much reading between the lines...not to mention I'm a hopeless Draco/Harry fan...

Oh, and Cho Chang? Remember, by the end, Harry did say she was a mistake!

Well not so much a mistake as he didn't like her any more but remember he said all this when the greif over losing his godfather was still very great he might not have ment any of it.

I think it matters if you're a reader trying to identify with him or with someone interacting with him. You'd like to know what sort of a relationship you'd want to paint in your imagination. That's all.

But anyway regarding Harry's sexual orientation, only Harry and JKR can answer that.
