The Tech Support Thread

Okeedokee . . . after just barely convincing myself not to bash my computer repeatedly with a club, I finally gave in to the tempatation of asking the 'Moot for help. And then I figured that I may as well start a thread on it where we can trade computer problems and advice. Because knowing me I will need some *cough*majorlytechnicallyimapired*cough*.
So to begin, I'm wondering why my computer won't automatically forward me places. Now, on the Moot this is fine, because it provides a link I can click, but Hotmail doesn't and I can't check my email because of it, and that's not fine. Should I just beat it over the monitor instead and use the school computers, or can I fix the dumb thing?

Er . . . Internet Explorer version 6. With Comcast. And it's never done this before. And I have to email my English teacher about homework due tomorrow . . .

What's happening when your trying to get into hotmail? Is it just refusing to open the page?

It sounds like someone has cleared the history cache. If I can't find something, I usually search for it on google.

Either that or her cookies have gone missing (so to speak).

MSN have been doing a lot of upgrades lately......her browser settings may need re-setting to compensate.

Any help for a computer that freezes every ten minutes for no apparent reason?

That happens to me alot too. I usually just turn it off improperly (with the little button - they say it messes up your memory but I've never had any problems with that). Then I just let it sit there for a few minutes and then turn it back on. Also it helps if you don't try to run alot of programs at one time.

Don't think so, it's doing this for Entmoot too and any other site where my browser is supposed to "automatically relocate me." So I get stuck in one phase of log-in. Y'know, when those green messages pop up on Entmoot saying, you will be automatically forwarded wherever? As of right now I have to click the link below. But there's no link to click on Hotmail. Ergo, I get stuck.
AND now my printer's not working. D*mn! It's plotting against me, I tell you . . . *scuttles off to Venting Thread*
