The Procrastination Thread

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I'm browsing the Moot it's usually because I'm avoiding doing something really urgent and/or important.

I reckon it's a definite psychopathological personality disorder which transposes unthreatening stimuli into a challenging milieu, thereby eliciting heightened levels of dissonance.

Either that or I'm a lazy lob.

So here's a thread for people like me. What are you putting off till the last minute and why? And more to the point, GET BACK TO WORK, YOU WASTER!

Could someone explain to me in simple,understandable words what "procrastinating" means?

And what is "eliciting"?

Sorry, but you simply cannot procrastinate about something that's a MONTH away, unless it's a PhD thesis or something. Then again, maybe it is a thesis.

Anyway, surely you can count this as research, as long as you look in on the Religion thread, or the Gays thread, or the Evolution thread or just about any other thread

PS - Procrastinating means to put off doing something, especially out of laziness. If you elicit something it means you make it happen or draw it out (e.g. a comedian could elicit a laugh from her audience with the joke about the two alligators sitting on the river bank)

I should be doing homework or working out right now. and i need to do some laundry. i hate doing laundry,it's so boring.

procratinat; verb; to put off intentionally or habitually

It's due tomorrow, but not until 4 o' clock. I've almost finished my outline, so i think that I have plenty of time...oh, except for that darned history assignment that's due at 9:30...
