A tenth Ringwraith...uh oh...theory nerve has been activated...

I think a tenth Ringwraith would be possible...maybe he was lost and slain or something on the way to the Shire...but there is the line in the poem that says "...Nine for the mortal men doomed to die..." those nine mortal men became the Nazgul. But who says there wasn't another Ring made...or one of those Men shared their power with someone else...*dun dun dun*

If there is something behind this then get on with it, congressmn, because so far you seem to be full of so much hot air. There were nine rings for men, which produced the Nazgul. Am I missing something?

Now it can be told!

Quote:

Actually, he got rather lost in time and separated from his nine fellows, but on his arrival in the Shire met the Old Took's fourth fabulous daughter, Hensbane (who isn't mentioned in the chronicles as her mother wasn't Adamanta Chubb), and was so smitten with her, he assumed hobbit form, adopted the name "Sandyman," opened a mill in the Bywater area, and married Hensbane: now that they were both finally respectable and filled to overflowing with bliss, they lived happily ever after.

PS: The full story is told in the ballad "Wannabe the Nazgûl," most recently recorded by Finn McGhoul and the Louts 'round about midnight in a live session one Halloween at The Forsaken Inn:

"Clueless he was,
And ringless, too,
Yet cloaked all in black,
Though he only stood five feet two,
Wannabe....
the Nazgûl....
Ah-ooooooooooo....."

The entire ballad goes on quite a bit in this vein, and rivals The Lay of Leithan in length as well as intricacy, though most listeners fall asleep before the end so the exact number of verses is still unknown.

Thus one should consider: "Being angry with another person, what can you do to him? Can you destroy his virtue and his other good qualities? Have you not come to your present state by your own actions, and will also go hence according to your own actions? Anger towards another is just as if someone wishing to hit another person takes hold of glowing coals, or a heated iron-rod, or of excrement. And, in the same way, if the other person is angry with you, what can he do to you? Can he destroy your virtue and your other good qualities? He too has come to his present state by his own actions and will go hence according to his own actions. Like an unaccepted gift or like a handful of dirt thrown against the wind, his anger will fall back on his own head."

I think that the 10th was a Work-In-Progress during the War of the Ring. His brothers went to fetch him many times but he was taken hostage by his 8 other companions: a smart-aleck-maia who got sent to the Valar's version of the south pole, 2 men fighting over a crown, an elf who decided to play one last round of good guy before retiring, a dwarf who likes elves and 3 halflings who refused to be ruled by this 10th one.

Seriously, I'm also interested on your friend's version of this 10th nazgul.

But really his passing on to the darker side doesnt really mean he will become a Ringwraith. This isnt STAR WARS and he isnt darth vaders' son.

He could well be converted into a hideous evil loathsome charachter, and not nessacarily a ringwraith.

10th Nazgul is Sauron. Thanks a lot you have solved it. Sauron has turned himself into a Ringwraith, quite a story.
Are u thinking of adding another sequel to the Lord of the Rings?

The Witch King was a Rider too.

Sauron wasn't a nazgul, because he wasn't a wraith.

Frodo was close to becoming a wraith, but not a RINGwraith. There is a difference.

Sure there's a 10th Rider. We just never see him because the Witch King always keeps him hidden away under his cloak . . . hey, there's a runt in every litter, right?

Nazgul I aggree with Durin's Bane!`

I think that there could've been a 1oth ringwriath, and come on, he could've been murdered on the way to the region. Or he was just hanging around somewhere, that's what I do!
