Hasufel and Brego?

In the books Eomer gives Aragorn Hasufel (and Legolas Arod) when they meet him on their search for Pippin and Merry. In the movie Aragorn is given Hasufel, but then when he is lying near the stream some horse named Brego comes and gets him, unexplainably. The horses are different colours, and it looks like they just made a stupid mistake, except the horses have different names. Am I just forgetting Brego from the books? This has been bothering me for awhile (which I guess is sad and anal, but it has!) Anyone have any ideas?

It's a movie thing! Brego was Theodred's horse. After Theodred's death in battle, Brego is battle worn, and too distressed to carry another rider. Aragorn says to turn him free, he has seen enough of war. So later, Brego finds the near dead Aragorn ( after his battle with Sharku) and "rescues" him.

Yes, and you also must remember that on their way to Helm's Deep they were not waylaid by wargs!

Wolf riders at Helms Deep

Well, there were wargs or wolf riders sent out . . it's in the text . .

Quote:
The Riders were still in the low valley before the mouth of the Coomb, when cries and hornblasts were heard from their scouts that went in front. Out of the darkness arrows whistled. Swiftly a scout rode back and reported that wolf-riders were abroard in the valley, and that a host of Orcs and Wild Men were hurrying southward from the Fords of Isen and seemed to be making for Helm's Deep.
As for Brego . . there are pictures of Brego in the stables and men trying to calm him . . there is also a picture of Aragorn releasing Brego . . none of those scenes made it into the film. I didn't mind the sequence.

I think Brego was a man of Rohan or Gondor in the book!

Isnt that kinda strange tho? Theodred named his horse after somone in his family. I mean, Theoden named his horse snowmane!! lol Thats like someone now naming their horse after their Grandma or something.
