talking about closing admins + mods please don't close this thread

I think only the people who started threads should only be able to close there own threads!Its really anoying when you atart a thread and someone comes up with something really interesting and youre about to reply to it when an mod or admin pops up and coles it !

this will help the thread starters make last posts and take some weight of the backs of mods and admins so they dont have to do it!!

if not the mod or admin should send a private message to the thread starter first so they can finish off the topic and then tell the mod or admin that they have finished replying and putting in the last details!

if you agree reply in this thread please!

p.s. mods and admins please dont move this thread either!

My dear Zavron, you can not close a thread unless you are a moderator. You do not have the tools. As a moderator, you also must keep threads out of forums that they don't belong in. This is not a Tolkien related thread, and therefore does not belong in this forum. I have no choice other then to move it to GMs, or close it. Sorry, take your pick.

what do you think of the second idea about the message sending can you apply that in any shape of form?

please dont close or move for just another couple of hours well at least until you reply to my second Idea

Your joking right?...It takes me, and three others, an hour(ish) every day just to sort through and edit/delete the trite (porn, advertising, insults etc) that appears in my own message boards, and we only have 700 members. Goodness knows how long it takes for the moderators/admins here to their job

Yeah zavron is sometimes pisses folks off when a thread gets closed.............but if you do not trust the admin/mod to do their job then I suggest you find a board with a more liberal approach, don't be surprised if all you find are spam, adverts, porn and abuse tho'

If you want to reply to someones post after a thread has been closed then I sugget you use the pm system..........surely it is one of the reasons it exists

Zavron, threads are usually closed for a particular reason. they do not get closed for nothing. It is left to the discretion of the moderator to decide if a thread warrents closing. Most reasons are because a thread is off topic, all ready in existance, or flaming in nature. There is usually no need for me to send a PM to a thread started since I usually post my reasons when I close a thread.
