Things you can't understand (aka voice of the ring and song lyrics)
First of all, you know how when Frodo has the Ring on in Bree and at Weathertop, it's talking to him? Does anybody have the foggiest idea what it's saying?
I know it's yammering "ash nazg durbatuluk" etc. at Rivendell, but the other times it speaks I can't understand it. Secondly, in the score, there's oftentimes people singing in the music. And -- (you guessed what I was gonna say, right?) -- I can't understand them either. See, I suppose they could just be singing nonsense, but I don't really think so. In Moria, when the Fellowship is trying to get over the broken section of staircase, as they flee from the Balrog, it sounds something like, "Umastanarë." Narë it Quenyan for fire . . . and as the balrog is a creature of shadow and fire, I couldn't help but wonder. Anybody?

What does Sauron say to Frodo after "I see you" when he puts the ring on?

I know they sing in Dwarvish (or w/e its called... like, Thrakluk or something) in Moria and the ring is probably on Black Speech. in my cd they don't have lyrics for the song in moria, I can prolly look it up though.

If I had the DVD, I'd be able to tell you. Someone must have it. You can put subtitles on, and then it tells you what the ring is saying.

Is it just my imagination, or when Gandalf is whispering to the butterfly, does he say "Gwaihir, go." ?

I just watched my DVD and when it loads up you have a "ring" of choices. Select language and setup and you can put English subtitles in. However, I did not get any subtitles at times you mention in your query.
The music drives me nuts (ok, it's a short trip) because neither the DVD nor the extra features DVD that has the music video on it have subtitles to tell you what the h.. they're singing.

They have a website with quite a few translations and comments on the music lyrics not given in the soundtrack...
try these: http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/movie_news.htm http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/movie_soundtrack.htm |

When Frodo holds the Ring out to Aragorn at Amon Hen, You hear it whispering: Aragorrnnnn.....Ellesssaarrrrrr.....
When Gandalf talks to the moth, maybe all you can hear was the tail end of his sentance: .....Gwaithir, go!

Interesting. I could not understand the words when Aragorn placed his hand over the Ring, until you mentioned it and I listened very carefully.

No it's muttering in the black speech. But it does sound like it's saying timbatuk, doesn't it.
