The November Release...

"A lot of care was taken in assimilating these scenes back into the movie. Howard Shore composed 15 more minutes of music. We're talking about some major scenes of interest to Tolkien fans. There's one of Galadriel" -- the elf queen played in the film by Kate Blanchett -- "giving gifts to the members of the Fellowship, gifts that will have particular importance as the story progresses. There will be more back story on Aragorn, including a scene where he sings."

That could be interesting. What do you think the song would be? Something along the lines of "Tinuviel, Tinuviel"? Hmmm...
Also, is it true that they are simply going to add the thirty minutes of extra footage right into the movie?

I don't know if it's going to be right in the rest of the movie, but for sure there's going to be stuff that was edited out. It might be after the movie, but it'd flow better if it was in the movie, not separate.

I'm pretty sure the scenes are part of the movie as a whole. They probably wouldn't bother with a whole 'nother release anyway. Though the fact that they're doing two in the first place is *arr* very annoying.
Anyway, I rather doubt, nice as it would be, that Aragorn will mention Tinuviel. They never mentioned Luthien in what we've seen of the movie so far and from the way they've been doing things, I don't think she existed movie-verse. I hope I'm wrong
Also, I saw some lovely pictures of some of the cut scenes, especially the scene in the Shire when they see the elves going to the Grey Havens. It looks like a beautiful scene...I can't wait 'til November!

I've heard that Aragorn sings the song of Beren and Luthien, in elvish! As such, it'll probably be a very short scene and he probably won't be singing it to the Hobbits.

Yes indeed the footage is being reintergrated into the movie. Shore has recorded more music for the scenes (don't tell BoP! ). The result will be a different version of the movie. They really had to do two versions otherwise the price would have been exorbitant.

*sigh* I already know about that lackey re-recording.

Does anyone else think that Shore has a really weird accent?

Edit:

Oh, and I am of course, holding out for this release.

isnt the extra footage already part of the movie and it was cut out, if it is than there would be no reason for it to be seperate

Just a question... but why did Shore have to compose "new music" (that accent! )? If PJ can film the whole lot all at once, then why was the music not composed in the same way? ie all at once? Then again, why do I care?

I think he had already composed the extra fifteen minutes, but it was cut out since it was in the cut scenes.

But in the extended dvd trailer, he talks about composing "new music" for FOTR - an unprecedented phenomena.

Because no one knew that the extended version would be made.

Well, the extended version does look really good, from what I saw in the current DVD...I just wish it were here now, instead of in November. I have no patience.

I just watched it 3 more times in the 5 days I had it rented - funny, it never gets old. My kids are now totally hooked; rest of the family thinks I'm just weird.
Now I'll wait til November to see it again.

Don't you think Shore composed the music for the movie as it was originally made, then when they added scenes they had cut he had to add new music? He obviously didn't make music for all the scraps on the cutting room floor.

I may get to see it sooner than I thought, because a friend of mine may lend her VHS version to me. She personally dislikes Tolkien , but the rest of her (large) family loves it.
