FotR keeps on going

Well, the trailer and oscars seem to have been doing their work.
FotR is now 5th in the all-time biggest grossing movies area, although if these figures are to be believed it's still got a fair way to go before catching up to 4th (although the 4th, 3rd and 2nd are all close enough that if it can catch 4th it could certainly get to 2nd).

It looks like PJ did do good with his timing of the re-release, and certainly FotR is still going in some cinemas over here, and you can bet it'll cream in some more money when TTT comes out - I'd expect a fair few cinemas to run both so people can 'remind' themselves what happened.

Of course, none of us value a film for it's commercial success alone, but it's nice to know other people agree the film is worth seeing!

BOOHOO! they took fellowship out the theatre! booohhooo. i can't go and see it again now! i agree gerbil though! it would boost cinema's sales if they re-released FotR in time for the TT. you can tell that the whole sales thing and when things are released was thought out by a bunch of geeky sales pple who have no life. i suppose, that is why they r releasing the VHS and DVD's when they are, to satisfy the 'hungar' for LotR until TTT is released.

Naah I'm still around.
Banned, moi?

Just gone quiet because pretty much everything that can be said about the film has been said.

Plus had a fairly busy and not so pleasant time of late, so spamming these forums has taken a rather low priority, that's all.

I still read (some of) the threads and whatnot.

Have no fear - the best avatar'ed person on this forum is still lurking

Good to see your nibbly rodent presense again. I think however Elvet's avatar is giving your blinking hamster a run...

If any of your avatars think they can have mine, then bring it on!
In case you hadn't noticed - mine has the power of the One Ring (more of a belt for a gerbil though) to back me up!

Not to mention Menevalgor's avatar just looks dime-bar-ish

To keep this vaguely on-topic, I've just found out that FotR is still playing in Macedonia of all places! And hopefully also in Norway, cos I'm off there next week for 'work'

Hmph, my cat could eat all of your avatars, gerbil, goldfish, dog, and all.

I hope they rerelease fotR with TTT, they probably won't though where I am. We only have one theater and it only shows the top name movies, rereleasing FotR would probably just take up their 'precious' cinima space... *fades to low grumbling*

Yes go see it.

Mind you I can talk - not seen it with the trailer

There is unfortunately something like homework, the defending of my project in two weeks and those nasty exams closing in real fast. Not to mention I have nobody who wants to see it again at the times I'm able to go to the cinema.

All valid reasons except the last - I've been to see it most times on my own.
To be honest, I enjoyed it more that way - I wasn't constantly bothered by my friends asking what had just happened (PAY ATTENTION!) or trying to find out what happens next (JUST WAIT AND SEE!).

In Sacramento, CA, it's only in three theaters and the movie ad went out of the newspaper three weeks ago.
