Relativity of Good and Evil

Do you think that good and evil are shaped soley by a persons own perspective relative only to his/her circumstances or do you believe that there is an absolute good and evil that is unchanging.

An arguement that good and evil are changeable according to circumstances and upbringing would be a war between two countries where each countrys citizens believe that their country is good while the enemy is evil - its all relative to the situation.

feel free to post your opinion in response - wave

Could you perhaps define good and evil?

I sense another bitter debate with Wayfarer coming on . . .

Well, Tulkas, I believe good and evil are completely relative, because they are not physically real - they only exist in our heads.

For further explanation, look up the old "Relative vs. Absolutism" debate in this forum.

Is it also coincidence that evil backwards spells live?

Good and evil are absolute. They never change. That's my opinion.

Oh, Emplynx, don't be such an evil party pooper...

It's all perception. A human perception placed upon the environment, to make sense of the world.

i think tulkas has asked a valid question, no need to close the topic.
anyways, i think good and evil are absolute. but their interpretation by imperfect humans will always be debatable.

What do you base your theory on?

There can. Take the meddling of lights from the Lamps. Go closer toward the lamps, and you get more concentrated light, further away and you get less light, but no dark.
