An Interesting Paradox

The other day at school, one of my childish friends decided that it was Opposite day. (I know you've all played that, where everything you say is reversed...) But then I realized that that was a complete paradox. If it was Opposite day and you said it, "It is opposite day" then it wouldn't be opposite day, because what you say is opposite. Then, if you decided that is was opposite day and you said, "It's not opposite day" you wouldn't know whether it was or it wasn't.
I decided that the only way to declare opposite day is to decide it the day before.

(My english class gives me lots of thinking time...)

no kidding. no offense, but thats extremely obvious. There are a lot of those...I can't think of a lot at this moment, but a good example is this: If a liar says that he is a liar, is he telling the truth?

If a liar says he's a liar, he is telling the truth, because not once was it mentioned that he lied about everything.

Erm . . . very confusing, emplynx. Or at least for my easily confused mind.

No, not a paradox at all. If we look at how particles co-exist between different temporal/spatial spectrums, then we can predict that in one timestream is opposite , and the other, is not. Huzzah!

Who's full of crap today? 3 hours of sleep.... zzzzzzzzzz

Paradox. What an interesting word. I like saying it. Paradox paradox paradox. Now I've said it so much it sounds funny. I like paradoxes too. (Not just the word) If anyone thinks of any good paradoxes, please let me know. I'm in a bit of a pondering mood.

One more thought: is a Catch-22 considered a paradox?

Take a sheet of paper.
One one side write: The statement on the other side of this paper is true
On the opposite side write: The statement on the other side of this paper is false
Both statements are completely true and completely false!

Time travel's still my favorite. You just can't do it without getting some sort of paradox.

I think taht time is the ultimate paradox.

Also i think that sporadic and trapezoidal are both better words than paradox.

I like paradoxes too. They confuse me. I like being confused. Must be because I'm used to it.

Time is only a paradox if you think in a linear pattern. I do not particularly believe that it is linear, it is only such as we perceive it....
