For those greater than I, how would a French Lord of the Ring Be?

I study French at school, but I don't know much... in my spare time I look up LOTR-ish words in my French Dictionary. Did you know 'The One Ring' in French is 'La Une Bague'?LOL!!!

I don't think it would be "La Une Bague". You can't use la/le/les and une/un together, I think. It could be "La Seule Bague." Not sure though.
And that should be: "Excusez-moi, s'il vous plait, as-tu du chocolat?"

Hey! Another Spanish person!
I frequent a Spanish LotR website often. (When I'm not here at entmoot) It's great practice. . .

Voy a ir a Espana? A donde en Espana? Mi amiga fue a Espana el ano pasado. Yo fui a Costa Rica en el verano pasado. Mi espanol es muy mejor a hora. *sorry, I didn't put any accents and stuff in that, which can obviously change the meaning of some words. . .I'm sure you know what I meant. . .*

I'll have to see if Princeton University Bookstore has the French version of LOTR - they had Harry Potter in French, Italian and several other languages there.
Yes Princeton students do obviously read Harry Potter too. My 300th post.

Yeah, I have Harry Potter in Spanish. Haven't read it yet, but I've been meaning too, to practice. I think LotR in Spanish would be a bit difficult, but maybe after Harry Potter and another visit to a Spanish speaking country, it won't be too bad. My friend read LotR in Chinese (that being her first language) and I just told another friend that he should try and find it in Japanese (that being his language), but he'll probably have to find it when he goes back to Japan this summer. Anyway, I'm sorta rambling here, working toward my 300th post. . .
Jersey Devil-Princeton students read Harry Potter? I guess it's not that surprising, though.

but you forgot "Claire de La Une".....heh.
Besides, vorty morty borgle forg. In a comic aside, if the Lord of the Rings were French, Aragorn would have sold Frodo out to Sauron for cheap and delivered the Ring to Barad-Dur himself along with the surrender papers for Gondor.....

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." On some French LotR website I found, they mentioned several possible names:
-Le Maître Anneau, -L'Anneau, L'Unique, -Le Grand Anneau, -Le fléau d'Isildur, -Le Trésor. J'étudie le français * l'école. J'ai "Le Hobbit" en français mais je ne l'ai pas lu encore.

A French copy of LotR or the Hobbit (lucky bmilder!) would be really cool. Unfortunately I don't know where I'd find one around here. A really good French book: Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince in English). Read it!!!
