Nice to meet you as well. Get a chance to see the movie? Or are you a strictly a book person?

Oh I saw the film and it totally rocked!

As for the book I read that about 20 years ago. My mum started myself and my brother with the Hobbit as our bedtime reading when we were very young but she thought LOTR was too scary so we weren't allowed that until we were older.

Welcome to the moot! I hope you enjoy your stay! Now that you're here it may be a good time to reread LOTR, otherwise the books forums may scare you away

Oh I intend to re-read LOTR. In fact I was kinda hoping I'd get it for Christmas but I got a Tolkien Diary instead. Oh well it is very, very cool and the pictures are lovely. There's always my birthday or I could just treat myself.

You won't get scared away by the LOTR discussions...just never wander into any serious-looking posts! (Those things scare ME away all the time... some people here are too smart.) Is the Tolkien diary the same as the hobbit's journal thing? Because I just got that, and I love it!! Anyways...welcome to Entmoot! Have lots of fun!

I don't know if the diary is the same as the Hobbit's Journal but it's illustrated by Ted Nasmith and the artwork is lovely!
