I'd like to introduce myself ^.^

Hey everyone!
My name's michi ^^. Just wanted to introduce myself, i'm rather new to this site. I've been a Tolkien fan for ages, now. Even wrote a term paper on the Hobbit. You guys can email or IM me anytime!

A halcyone is a mythological bird ^.^ It's all golden and pretty. Halcyon, or halcyonic can refer to the "golden days" (ex. the halcyon days of summer...etc)

The dictionary in this link...says "kingfisher" which is a bird.

well, the word had to have orginated from somewhere. it's a Specific kingfisher!! and my vocab book for school uses halcyon as an adjective too. on monday i'm going to the school and looking it up in the Oxford English Dictionary.
