When Actors/Actresses do stupid things

In light of the recent...

Mel Gibson "scandal"

Robin Williams hypocrisy

and

Tom Cruise severing...

I decided to start this thread so we can all launch attacks on Hollywood .

The Tom Cruise one is the one that gets me...I certainly don't see anything weird about jumping on couches, at least not as compared with the way some of these Actors/Actresses think and talk.

I mean he also said something about Psychiatry being rubbish; that probably raised a few eyebrows....but am I the onlt one who agrees with him there?
I don't really like the guy, and I think Scientology is wacko, but to be kicked off Paramount (pun) just because of some couch jumping? That's stupid.

I think the whole celebrity worship thing is overrated. Like I care what a celebrity whines over this or that religion, or does this or that stupid thing just because he or she has too much money to spend. They're just as human as the rest of us. What makes their opinion so wonderously important?

Right with you, Earniel. They just don't inspire much except shame....which is why it's so sad that young girls get this (hollywood hyping) from what might as well be a medical feeding tube.

Maybe that's why all these scandals get so much press, the shame-thing I mean. Here we have people who are scandalously rich, famous, and often worshipped and then they go and do such stupid things and say such silly things. I suppose that may make people feel better about themselves. Sort of like: "I may not be rich and famous, but I'm not that god-damn stupid like such and such celebrity."

Yes, I think you're right; that's part of it.

It wasn't that much different back in the day though...Opera stars were just as much in the forefront. But back then at least people way out in the country didn't have to worry about their stupidity; these days everyone knows one way or another.

Tom Cruise was due.....all he had done for a decade was smile....
Celebrity dips....hmmmm.....someone said Paris Hilton was going to be celibate.......
I don't know the names of the blondes on the covers of magazines anymore...they all look the same. and I really don't care what any of them do. I did like the Lance Bass "I'm Gay" cover....at least the guy had something to say.

You know what we should do with all those blondes? Send them to Siberia .

Lance Bass: I suspected it from the start, the guy looked it.

Tom Cruise: you're absolutely right. He's been smiling ever since he got the part of The Joker in Top Gun .

Lance was my daughter's favorite......while we laughed when we say the "I'm gay", it reaffirmed why she liked him so much......girls love the gay guys!

You think Ashton is tired of old Demi yet?
I always like those "Look who's got cellulite!" pix...but it's creepy that someone stakes them out with a telephoto lens for days to get the saggy bottom shot...still, they don't do real work, yet they're rich......

Lizra, are you an intel in Hollywood, undercovers?

Lance: he was everyone's fav back in fifth grade...

I can't imagine liking "cellulite" pics. It sounds too scientific to be true...

I would favour a "Logan's Run" type televised extravaganza, where the Z-list celebs fight it out and the last one standing gets a bit part in some daytime soap opera.

Oh wait, we've already got that: Celebrity Big Brother

Or there could be another "Dancing with the Stars"...and each blonde has to dance with a Lion...

I always get kind of annoyed when people get angry at celebrities for the supposedly 'stupid' things that they do. I mean, yes, if you like someone, even long-distance, you're going to care about what they do, even if only a little bit. But when people condemn celebrities for making what they think are bad choices, that really grates on me. Everyone, including famous people, has a life to live, and everyone makes mistakes. Just because some peoples are hidden in closets and some are splashed on rag covers at the grocery store makes little difference.

Nevertheless, I will admit that celebrities and their antics have made me roll my eyes now and then. Moste especially with all the marrying and divorcing going on. It's really getting old. Why bother getting married?

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

I think the annoying part is that they get to be famous for it in the first place

So true! People fawning over these individuals is what annoys me. They have as many 'warts' as the rest of us. In fact they may be even more spoiled because of all the attention and money they get.
