Graduation!

Hey, I just did that Saturday! Then I had a party, plus two more yesterday, and the afterparty for the first one. Wow, I forgot how much being in school stifled your social life. I'm loving this.

What I learned in school this year is that students have hugely various feelings about "the end." For some it's bittersweet, for some it means freedom, for others it's fun, to others depressing, and for most it is something so complex that they need a thread specifically for it.

Why is it important to you? Here's the thread where you talk about your individual case of "senioritis," you celebrate your graduation, you daydream about graduating, or you recall what you went through before graduating.

Happy graduation!

In my case, I'd had enough. No one was cool in freshman year, and so I became by choice a loner. To sum up a very long and tedious story, in which my loneness is only reinforced again and again , I was already depressed and exhausted by junior year. I wanted it to end, so I could go off to college and fall in with some cool new people like I've never met before, but were just like me. Did such people exist? I never saw evidence of it. I wondered if it would be worth the wait to find out, and in order to stay sane and alive I forced myself to stop thinking until graduation. I just did work, or just helped my family, and just didn't talk. Then some people started hanging around my locker in the mornings and I overheard enough to realize that wow, these are the people! I wound up crashing their prom weekend , and it still blows all of our minds how much we have in common without having ever spoken to each other before. They all hate high school drama. We're all above it, and it's such a good feeling.

good for you bombadillo! High School wasn't so great and I too will be very glad to get out soon.

I graduate from high school myself shortly. Less than 2 weeks from now - Monday, June 19th. This is actually the last full week of school left - (M,Tue,Wed,Thur,Fri). Next week I only have class on Monday, "Senior Day" Tuesday, 1 final exam Wed - off thur, fri, sat, sun. Graduation Mon June 19th

Just watching movies in most of my classes. I have a final test or two in a couple of them - but that will all be over by this Wednesday.

I start classes at Elon University August 30th.

I probably won`t have an actual graduation- my school year just kinda melts away. My friends have already graduated, and the graduation on this side of the pond is in March. So I am done with school when ever I go home I guess.

I haven`t really had much of a chance to think about how I feel about graduation- I`ve been more caught up in how I feel about going back home to America. I guess my affair with high school pretty much ended last year. I`m getting psyched for college though. I guess I had a lot of fun in high school but now I`m ready. I don`t have any real strong feelings either way- it just seems like the natural flow of things.

I guess I was more worried about the graduation on this side. I was sad that all my third year friends left and went to college (actually, I hear a lot of them didn`t get in to college). That was the worst. I always wish they`d come back. I did go see one of them yesterday though- this crazy girl Yamamura.

I graduated on June 3; my last day of school was around May 19. I'm going to Grove City College.

I'm off to Elon University in North Carolina. I leave at the end of August and classes start August 30th. This will be the shortest Summer break that I've ever had :P (and ever will have, because college lets out in May).

Right now, I'm majoring in communications. Not sure what specifically though - communications is a pretty broad major, emcompassing many things.

congrats! I think I was happy to get out of high school at the time. But now with all the responsibilities of an adult, sometimes I wish I were back in it! (I sound like my mom! )
