ok, so who is the ultimate death/black/doom metal band?

i am torn between emperor, mayhem and darkthrone

emperor's album Prometheus: The Discipline of Fire & Demise is of course brilliant

BTW, we can also discuss music influenced by black/death metal in here, so in light of that...Cradle of Filth rule!! and I am exactly the same height as Dani Filth! 5 foot and 5 inches, imagine that, me the same height as one of my heroes!

mortiis is excellent also, of course, has anyone got his last album [b]the grudge[b]? if so, what is it like, i have only heard Decadent & Desperate and Way Too Wicked from that album, and they are both brilliant

has anyone else heard of Cod?, they are a Finnish band, they covered (in a death metal style) Phil Collins' Another Day in Paradise, and I also have on my computer their single Into the Dreams, and i have been looking everywhere for their album Monolith Empire, which i think is self-released, if anyone can tell me where i can get it in the UK i would be much appreciative!

my favorite song by them currently is nymphetamine. love it love it love it!!!

other bands that are kinda in the same genre are devil driver; god forbid; rammestein; um... can't think of the other one i have in my head, but i'm sure it'll come to me later.

i'm sure you've heard of in flames? not that many people around me have heard of them! they're good, though.

i'm listening to Helheim a lot at the moment, death metal where the only instrument is a piano - excellenti!

and although rammstein is industrial, a lot of industrial came out of death and black metal so that can be discussed here too
