Russian sub crew rescued

Just read on Yahoo news that they were able to safely bring up the seven guys who had been trapped in the Russian mini-sub.

yeah, it must have been hellish down there in a mini-sub, enclosed-in knowing your air and time was running out....

Hope they had a kettle and some tea-bags! (and some fresh milk - or ok, any old milk or whitener even)

It's nice to finally have some good news coming from our media services.

Well, there was also a plane accident at the Pearson airport in Toronto a couple weeks ago (?), and no one was killed or seriously injured.

I agree, it is nice to hear some good news. I'm glad the American and Japanese fleets (IIRC) could get there in time.

That will be the Hollywood version, I'm sure. But actually the Royal Navy sorted it.

Yeah you'd think the Russians would have learned from the Kursk, which was made into a movie. Five years later and they still don't have the means to rescue their own people.

That's true, and it certainly was amazing. With all the chaos, smoke and flame, one would have thought . . . well, it was amazing .

With a robot! I find robots, unmanned aircraft, boats or other, very wierd and slightly scary.

God, yes. Wonder what the people down there were thinking when they heard that the American's help wasn't accepted, instead they were supposed to breathe slowly and do self-hypnosis... Heard those things on the radio, btw. Insane things always cacth my attention... pray it wasn't true. Thank God they were finally brought up alive.
