ZAQ1--Go here to read the story!

Anyway, this is a SciFi story I began writing as a class assignment, which was basically filling up three pages of lined paper with just about anything (As long as it was about something). Rather than doing three pages of lined paper, it filled up three and a half pages of a microsoft word document.
I turned in the incomplete (hadn't even got past the beginning) document, full of fatal errors and got an A+. Seeing the potential of this story, I kept it handy, and continued with it: it was the first story I didn't feel like throwing away. In three days it grew to 10,000 characters (as in text), and then it slowed a little but still kept going, growing from 10,000 characters with spaces to almost 22,000 in three weeks, getting to 21 thousand and 9 hundered something earlier today. And despite doubling in size, I have not yet even passed the beginning.
I am quite confident that I will be writing this story for a long time.

So far it has 4 chapters, but will continue to grow.

Hey, trolls' bane, I LOVE your story!! Are you going to finish it? I want to read more, want to find out what happens when he goes to ZAQ1. You've got a terrific imagination. Ever thought of scriptwriting? Your ideas are fresh and well-researched, and you have a nice, steady writing pace and truly interesting visual imagery. I live in L.A. and (try to) write, as well - maybe one of these days we could compare notes - or whatever, anyway - are you going to post more story soon?

MAn, I told hectorberlioz I had nothing to do...how right I was! I live in the Valley (you know the valley I mean since you live in LA) and it is the hottest day this year so far.

I was thinking of driving into Hollywood this afternoon to visit a friend; didn't realise it was so hot in the valley 'cause I'm in Hermosa Beach and it's thick with overcast and fog over here today. Depressing weather.

I started reading your story, TB. I like it! It`s well written and interesting! ...And now I actually have posted in your thread. o_o The part with the train was cool because it felt just like getting on a train here, only crazy and futuristic.

Why, thank you! Although, I do seriously need to update it.

I think I've changed those chapters quite a bit there.

Well, your idea of my writing is much more enthusiastic than my idea of it is.

Well, I can update only a little. You see, I have not yet rewritten chapter 4 and 5, but I have written up to chapter 7 after that. I'm not even sure where I am any more. I'll do what I can soon.

Well, I've redone ZAQ-1. I made the first six or so chapters into three, by combining "Chapter One: Sigmund Russell" with "Chapter Two: G.H.I. 81,027A7.1", using the latter as the title for the new chapter One. I also combined the chapters "A Deal for Transport", "The Minusaur", and the would-be untranscribed chapter "Planetarium Core." Later, what was "Chapter Five: Departure" will be renamed and become part of the future (also not yet written) chapter "Chapter Six: Twenty Seven Alpha and Beta", again using the latter of the two titles. I'd do some of this now, but I'm not using the same hard drive, and I have to reformat my old drive and reinstall microsoft word, all of my documents, the network, my printer, my sound card, my video card, my mouse, my astronomy programs, Star Wars Galaxies, Cyber Chess, and a few others necessary programs and components. THEN I will be able to update, when I get around do it. I think I'm going to delete that site and create a new one where I could allow people to upload ALL of my stories that, though related to ZAQ-1 in that they are all taking up a sort of collective timeframe (perhaps a good example would be Lord of the Rings--a basic plot that spans vast amounts of time--making it somewhat easier to describe), are not part of the actual ZAQ-1 would-be novel. And soon I will replace this thread with the one where I could post all my stories/books so I don't end up crowding the forum with "Milky Way Chronicles" threads: the same reasons as above.

I will! When I finish it. It'll be an epic one of these days! I'll set the date for chapter four sometime in December 2020.
