What was the saddest moment of your life?

For me, when my first hamster died. I cried 3 days in a row

When my second died, I didn't cry.

But I'll probably cry again when my third dies.

Those little Russian hamster thingies don't live that long.

Re: What was the saddest moment of your life?

Saddest moment of my life I'm not sure about... the only relative of mine who's ever passed away was my grandmother on my father's side, and even she was probably one of the most distant of my relatives.

I can remember some pretty dumpy and pathetic days of such a scope that they probably won't be surpassed in a long, long time... specifically, two particular days this year. I won't go into detail but the two situations were related. Entmooters, if you remember the whole "We regret to inform you that IronParrot is dead" fiasco - that was the first of the two.

I won't go into more detail than that.

Re: What was the saddest moment of your life?

Well, since I'm just 15 years old, I can remember most of my life...

I had to cry to when my grandfather died... But I guess that was because I was very young back then. Nowadays I don't really care about my relatives anymore. Except my parents and my brother.

Saddest moment of my life?

I can't isolate it to one period, let alone one moment... and if I could, I probably wouldn't share it, as it'd most likely be painfully personal.

I've had football games that brought forth more tears than the death of relatives, but perhaps that isn't an accurate gauge of emotional impact...

When my fater didn't bother to visit me last x-mas, haven't seen him in 9 years.

Re: Arynetrek...

When I lived in Saskatchewan, one of my best friends was a guy who lived just down the road. I moved to Alberta when I was 8. When I was 14 I got a call saying that he'd just been killed in a Ski-doo accident. A truck hadn't seen him as he crossed the road, totaled his sled and killed him instantly.
I cried outwardly for 2 hours, and inwardly for 3 months.

About the "IP is dead" thing - the fact that nobody took it seriously actually brightened my day, because of all your witty comments... no apology required, aryne...

Re: Arynetrek...

The saddest moment in my life was on Aug 17th 1994, the day my parents decided to get a divorce.

There aren't many things sadder than that. It's right on up there among the worst of things.

*hugs authors of all previous posts*

For me, I'd say this past Tuesday, when my cat died. I still miss her terribly, but my friends recently knocked me out of my depression.

Re: Arynetrek...

I was sad at the deaths of our family parakeet and lizard, my great-grandmother, a friend's dad, and my little cousin who fell in an irrigation canal. But the saddest was when one of my good friends got cancer during my sophomore year in high school. She got worse and worse until she died last year. I was shocked and devastated when she first got sick, because she had been so full of life, and so beautiful and real. I was happy when I learned that she died, because I know she has perfect peace and joy now.

I was also very sad when my older sister left for college. I cried for weeks--we were very close and I was afraid that we would lose that. We didn't.

Re: Arynetrek...

Most Sad moment was when I first got dumped. Cried for a week. Then was mad/sad for a year.

And this thing that happened last week-end is really hard.
