Metallica

I did a search and found no threads on Metallica!
Sure they're mentioned in other threads, but I thought we should have one especially for them. So who's a fan? What's your favorites?

My personal favorites are:

-Master of Puppets (their absolute best!)
-Dyers Eve (from ...And Justice for All)
-Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
-Disposable Heroes
-The Unforgiven
-Nothing Else Matters
-Sad But True

I still have to get Load and Reload though. Which is the better one?

Well lets just say this, the songs that didn't make it on Load (an unsuccessful album imo) is what got put on the Reload album.

Anything after the Black Album to their current album, St. Anger, is all downhill.

Beren3000 I like Metallica! The Unforgiven is my favorite song, so is I believe it's called For whom the Bell tolls... and Reload is great!! I listen to it all the time, in fact I'll go listen to it right now! King Nothing is a good song as well.

I'm pretty fond of Metallica, in addition to the songs you mentioned (Beren) I'd like to add The Memory Remains, Unforgiven II, Fade to Black and Orion.

Falagar, when I heard Fuel and The Memory Remains on S&M, I liked them, too

I love Metallica round about their CD Black (or whatever the name is). Before that they got some cool stuff, but most of them aren't really that good. I don't like them now. They changed too much.

Most of the albums before the Black album aren't really that good?? Then what is left?
Anyway, I'd recommend Reload, it's got some really good songs.

On another note, does anyone of you understand what their song The thing that should not be is about?
