The Thin Thread of Economy

Since I, yet again, am unemployed, I've been giving Sweden's present government's view on companies some thought.

Since they are Socialists they detest the mere thought of hospitals etc owned and operated by commercial interests.

Since they are rabid in this hatred they invent rules and regulations to hinder small companies, even the ones who's not in the public sector or, god forbid, the ones who's thinking of branching out into it, from hiring unemployed people.

There are three major powers in Sweden.

1. The Socialist government (whom, being Socialist, could not conceive the thought that they might just adjust their principles to actually help people get jobs, or if not that see to that regulations makes it easier.)

2. The Unions (Whom, being the adversaries of the company boards, could not, of course, conceive of such an adjustment).

3. The Media (Who, politically, swings more one way than the other, and therefore, fights the socialist government's fights for it and therefore does not want to make it easier for small companies to hire people).

Well, this is some of the conclusions that I come to.

Feel welcome to post your views of them.

G_W,
Are you suggesting that a Socialist government is not actually bringing UTOPIAN bliss to every individual under its sway? For shame, that must be a libel. Every socialist I've read on these boards is so convinced that CAPITALISM is the bogey-man that you must be miscomprehending the axiom "from everyone according to his ability and to everyone according to his need." Either that, or your concept and the government's aren't identical! And how can that be since GOVERNMENT KNOWS BEST? Sign me .

G_W,
Are you suggesting that a Socialist government is not actually bringing UTOPIAN bliss to every individual under its sway?

Indeed, they are not. And they are not supposed to. The're job is to run the country, not mismanage the ecomomy (the cause of the said mismanagment to a great degree, the Environtment Party (Half-commie) and the Extreme Left Party (Pure commie), and since the Government is in their claws the country is going downhill, whatever the G. says about Sweden being on the Economic Roll.

For shame, that must be a libel. Every socialist I've read on these boards is so convinced that CAPITALISM is the bogey-man that you must be miscomprehending the axiom "from everyone according to his ability and to everyone according to his need."

The whole concept of an INDIVIDUAL being able to do anything is foreign to Sweden's Socialists.

Either that, or your concept and the government's aren't identical! And how can that be since GOVERNMENT KNOWS BEST? Sign me .

It DOESN'T. The Socialists, half-commies and commies in the Government just THINKS they're doing good job, they don't KNOW.

Wait just a minute now, are you sure all this can be blamed on socialism? First of all, I totally empathize with your situation Grey Wolf, and I hope you find a job soon.

Socialism has a lot of good ideas, but the problem is government's don't tend to implement it correctly. I'm not convinced that communism is the best way to have a socialist country. China is communist (except the economy) but they're not the ideal socialist state IMO.

Canada has a government-run health care system, and IMO it works well. Yes, it does have problems, but if we were to privatize the system, we'd merely be exchanging our issues for new ones. I don't think any country has a perfect health care system. I think there are too many difficult variables, like the advancement of medical science and changing demographics in a population.

Back to Sweden (and the defence of socialism), I didn't quite understand how the government's socialist policies would make it hard for a small business to hire you. Obviously the Swedish government has implemented a policy that isn't helping the economy, but does that blame lie with socialism, or with the government just plain having a bad idea?
I don't know that much about the Swedish government, but I'm happy to learn.

Yeah, Nurv, it's always the failure of implementation of the proper idea. That excuse has been used in every instance of socialism in known history. BUT, all the individual has to do is give up everything for the implementation of the 5 year plan and life will become a UTOPIA. It's been said since Marx with the same result. "When will we ever learn? When will we ever learn?" as the '60s
folk song had it.

Now, do we get the lecture on the evils of capitalism and how terrrible it is that a society based on that formulation (with a strong dash of social net since The New Deal) is terrible and uncaring and...oh,...by the way, the number one place to live in the world?

Happy Pentecost Sunday, Nurv.

It can. And thank for your empathy. You see the Socialists in Sweden, not to mention the Entire Left Wing thinks that everything can be run by the State and Communities. They don't really want any private interests at all.

Socialism has a lot of good ideas, but the problem is government's don't tend to implement it correctly. I'm not convinced that communism is the best way to have a socialist country. China is communist (except the economy) but they're not the ideal socialist state IMO.

There are no correct or incorrect ways of implementing socialism. Socialism/Communism does not work at all. Unfortunately Socialists/Communists in Sweden refuse to realize this.

That may be so. And I didn't mean that they entire health care system should be privatized, a 50/50 split should probably do. But our government doesn't think any of it should be privatized as I said before.

Back to Sweden (and the defence of socialism), I didn't quite understand how the government's socialist policies would make it hard for a small business to hire you. I don't know that much about the Swedish government, but I'm happy to learn.

The rules and regulations put down by the Swedish Government and to add insult to injury, very high taxes and a multitude of charges and fees, hampers any small company owner's possibilities for hiring unemployed people.

(BTW GW you can type
and
around Inked's words, if you want. )
Hope that gave some insight.
