Looking for a quote...
I'm trying to find a quote by Tolkien where he discusses why he used his medievalist (Anglo-Saxon etc.) academic background in his work, and says something like he hopes that reading his work will lead people to the real thing, i.e. medieval literature. I know it exists because I heard it a little while ago, but I can't find it at the moment. Could anyone maybe point me in the right direction?

Thanks for responding. I had found that thread when I was searching, and a couple more along the same lines. I think I may be able to find what I was looking for (I had a bright idea, anyway) but if I can't I'll try your suggestion. Thank you SGH
