Beta-reader?

I'm looking for a beta-reader for an science-fiction short story (less than 3000 words, spanning 5 pages in a MS Word-document). Anyone wanting to help me out? It's written in English and this not being my mothertongue, I'd like to get the story thoroughly reread for errors in grammar, spelling and content. I can't offer anything but eternal gratitude and occasional worship.

I probably owe you one... and if I understand what you're asking for, I think I could handle it.

Oh... uh, how soon would you need it?

I'd be glad to help, too. I'll be on call all weekend and would hopefully have time to assist you. My American English is fairly trustworthy, but I am a native South Carolinian, so ... .

Thank you both. Shall I email the document to both of you? (Two pair of eyes can spot more than one. )

I don't have to have it back immediatly, take your time to read it over.

Are you sure you wouldn't rather work on your List of Kings than reading this, Karl?

Well - I can probably read faster than I can type... and besides, I need to get some comments back on my list myself!

Be careful though... I think Rosie once told me to 'take my time' posting on 'Fall of Numenor'!

There. I've just mailed it to the both of you.

Hmm, odd, I keep getting a 'failed message' notification when I try to send it to you, Inked. Is your inbox full by any chance?

Ah, but she didn't poke you as much as I surely will.
