Umm. What is Norescon4? And what is exhibited at the LOTR exhibition? Is it a traveling exhibition, say in the mid-Atlantic region?

Oh, man, that Exhibit sounds awesome!!!! I'm going to try to talk my parents into it! Unfortunatly, I'm already being taken to a Renaissance Festival, and they might not go for a second thing just for me. But, man, it's sounds so cool!

One of my best friends is going to the exhibit in Boston in September. Apparently the exhibit is only making one stop in the United States (??? I'm not sure if this is correct and haven't checked the link...)

Her best friend is flying in from Chicago to meet her here and then they will drive to Boston. ("drive" and "Boston" in the same sentence???)

Of course, I really hate her now....

Here is a bit of news on the exhibit that I got

In conjunction with The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy -The Exhibition the Museum of Science and the MIT Metallurgy department will be presenting demonstrations on the Art & Science of Metalsmithing. Several times (exact dates TBA) during the run of the exhibition, a forge will be set up on the plaza and our guests will be able to view MIT demonstrators perform the duties of a blacksmith. Interpreters from the Museum’s Special Exhibition Interpretation program would augment the demonstration.

I hear it is not a big furnace. But it should be cool anyway. And it is out front which means it is likely to be free

Here is some new news

During the weekend of October 15th, Museum of Science in Boston will be hosting a personal appearance by Sean Astin, who will be touring the country promoting his new book There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale. The book, to be published by St. Martin's Press this fall, describes Mr. Astin's experiences during the filming of his role of Sam Gamgee in the Lord of The Rings trilogy. Although all the details of his two-day visit have not been determined, he will be doing a book signing here at MOS that weekend. Museum of Science is hosting the US premiere of The Lord of The Rings Motion Picture Trilogy - The Exhibition from August 1st to October 24th, 2004.
