Where do you think you'll be in 5 years? 15?

I used to be more sure about this than I am, recently.

When I look at the birthdays at the bottom of the page, I sometimes check in to see who these people are, their number of posts, their interests, etc. Often, recently, i'm looking at a date, and suddenly remember what I was doing at that time...who my friends are, etc. I wouldn't usually have forecast where I am now.

So, any ideas? When you look back to today, how will you have changed?

Somewhere wet.

I'm expecting to be involved in ceph experiments, or (if my luck holds) doing underwater photography.

How will I have changed? Shorter hair probably. I'm hoping I become more proffessional as well.

Well, in 5 years I'll be 25. It's possible I'll have graduated college by then. If so, maybe I'll have gotten a teaching job. I have a feeling I still have at least another few years of random migrating around, but maybe after 5 I'll have found a place to settle down. Who knows.

15 years, I'll be 35. I'll be old. Maybe I'll be married, or have been married and divorced, who knows? I hope I have a stable home by then. I'm concerned about the state of America and the world in general 15 years from now. If I'm in another country by then, that would be nice. Hopefully I'll have a decent job. I would like to have children. 35 is kind of pushing it. I hope I would have a couple by then. I wouldn't wait much longer. I don't think I'll have any at 25 though, at least I hope not. I could change my mind by then, but, 5 years isn't that long. I've got a lot of other things to do before I have kids.

Are you planning on graduate school? I don't know your interests, in school.

I like how you're sure you'll be old at 35.

Oh, I would like to go to grad school, but I don't know if it'll be necessary or whatever. I'm pretty much aiming for teachers certificate for now. In math and science. Probably math with a physics minor, but I change my mind constantly... I've pretty much wanted to be a teacher consistently since late elementary though.

I plan to be in the same relative place for the next...decades, maybe around 90 years. So I'll be exactly where I am now in 5 to 15 years (excluding vacations). I'm just glad it hasn't come to business traveling yet, but I'm sure that will start happening soon.

In the next 15 years I'll be seeing the kids off to High School and planning more than ever for their college education, if that's what they choose to do. In the next 6 to 7 months, I'll be seeing my first and second born. We'll cross that bridge when the journey takes us there.

You are going to be a daddy? Congratulations Ingwe!

Where I will be in 5 years... I'll graduate in 3 or 4 years and might do a Human Resource Master after that, depending on what kind of job I want to do I suppose. If I don't do a MA and finish my BA, then in 5 years I'll probably be looking around for my second job, as 90% of the graduates leave their first job after a year or so.

In 15 years... I hope to have a job I like and maybe I'll be married and have kids. I would like a big family, but I guess that's not entirely up to me. I don't want to live in the city and I don't need a big house. But we'll see how it goes.
I'm pretty much without ambitions, as long as I and the people around me are happy. And as long as I have time to read

I do hope that in a few years from now, I will have some answers to questions that have been bugging me for a long time now, but seen the nature of those questions, I doubt it.

EDIT: And I hope that in 15 years I have several photo-albums to show of my travels around the world, visiting old and new friends.

Mhm 5 years.. Faaaaaar away
I'd have served my year in the Marines and finished up my Masters, so preferably I've got a job in the United Nations or something

Oh and 15 years. That is waaaaaaaay too far away.

Wow 5 years from now I'll be 25 - and almost 3 years out of college. Will I go to graduate school? I doubt it now, but it is possible. I wouldn't be surprised if I was on my second or third job by then. Little idea where I'll live or work yet. I change every year, so I do expect to be a different person in 5 years - and yet the same person. Every experience, place I go, person I meet, etc changes me in some way. I'm different and yet the same.

Still - I can't really even begin to imagine myself 5 years from now. So many experiences I have yet to experience, places I have yet to go that will impact me, and people I have yet to meet that will shape my life.

15 years? First I need to figure out what I'm going to do and where I'll live after graduation. And I don't have to decide on that for nearly another 2 years.

I'm pretty much the same. I don't tend to make far-reaching plans per se. I tend to live more in the present. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd think in 5 years time, I'd be living in Europe & working in the IT/GIS sector still. Maybe with UNESCO or something other organisation.

15 years? Who knows. I'm sure it'll be a trip though.

I don't know where I'll be in 5 years or 15, but I darn well hope I can then look back and regret nothing of what lies in between then and now.

Okay.

Will that be because you never made a poor decision, or because you have grasped the essence of "c'est la guerre' ?

It would be my honor to be a delicious automobile. But the phrase I used is common in English usage. Like 'tour de force' or 'toujour gai'.
