Greenwood

At what time was Greenwood the Great darkened?
And, at what time was the original forest covering Middle Earth destroyed? I'm talking about the frorest stretching from Fangorn to Mirkwood to the Old Forest.

About the year 1000 of the second age Sauron tock up his dwelling in Dol Guldur (not so named in that time). With that the drkening started, but it was a longe time before the surce of the darkening was observed by anyone.
The great forests of Eriador were cut short by the Numenorenans in of the second meilenum of the second age.
