Lemme guess, is this thread from before there was a board for such discussion? Anyway, my favourite is Gregorian Chants. Listening to them right now. I also love Tolkien Ensemble, of course J. R. R. Tolkien's singing of the Galadriel's Lament, the Hymn of the Fayth from Final Fantasy X, and a bunch of Christian music. By which I mean of styles that are predominantly Christian, i.e. praise and worship, and also hymns.

so do you like the music based soley on the fact that it is christian related or do you just happen to like all styles of music that happen to be related to christianity? do you like gospel? and about gregorian chants. have you heard of a group called the anonymous 3? or maybe its the anonymous 5....

Nope, never heard of them.

I don't like nearly all Christian music, mainly the more 'conservative' songs. I don't like Christian rock much, and a lot of P&W songs (both sung in church and played on CD by my mom) I'm not very fond of.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by gospel. Is that that Christian western/country music?

By the way, I also love the classics (the more well-known ones, anyway). I can't believe I forgot that...

P&W? Christian western/country music? No Gospel is like well gospel. youve never heard of it before? basically its big choir black church music. very moving. very spiritual. makes you want to get up and just move. you can "feel the spirit in the music" as they say. no its nothing like christian rock. most christian rock is mediocre wet noodle watered down rock without the good parts. unless you are talking something like Creed who are simply excellent.

P&W = Praise and Worship.

Oh, that. Then I haven't heard too much gospel, but I love what I heard.

I also just remembered Middle-eastern music. See above.

I wouldn't say that Middle-eastern music is amongs my faves......but a friend of mine loaned me a CD with some of the middle-eastern/African music from the film Black Hawk Down........Some really good stuff on thier, especially when the electic Sitah (sp?) music is combined with an electic guitar.

Dunno if there is an official soundtrack CD, if there is, yer could do a lot worse than check it out

I really like almost any type of music except for rap, R&B, hip hop (bunny music) and pop. My favorite type of music is rock.

You Christians are lucky. You've got Christian rock. When am I gonna get my Jewish rock??

What do you mean, "old but good?" That's like "big but large", as far as I'm concerned.

I've heard of Klezmer. Is that just an alternative spelling?

P.O.D. is really good rock. No profanity and no degration of women and sex.
DC Talk, Newsboys, Scott Kripaynne, Katinas and the classical stuff like Mozart and Beethoven.
Celtic music is my new craze. I love it.
But If I'm gonna dance it's gotta be S.K. or Katinas

Hey, Hebrew doesn't use the English alphabet, you can spell it however you want. As long as it sounds right, that is.

Yeah, Celtic music is nice, too.

"all rock" isn't Christian...
