Considering closing GM - Page 6

I think that is a good idea, BoP. Instead of "Talk about anything you want on this forum" write "Talk about ..... " and write what it is that you expect people to discuss there. What was the original intent of that forum? If coffee and tea are not appropriate (although I'll bet Tolkein wouldn't have minded discussing tea once in a while), close them, but give some guidance as to what should be discussed. That would be a good compromise.
If this doesn't solve the problem, then go ahead and close it for a while and see if the board moves back into the direction you wish it to go. If not, it might be that it's something more than the existence of GM. If it does, keep it off the board or re-introduce it gradually at a later date and see if it can be used as it was meant to be used. But I do think that needs to be more clearly defined.

If you're not even taking our opinions into consideration, regarding closing the GM forum, then why are you "kicking the anthill"?

This thread in itself is spam, if you're not going to even listen to us, or have no intention of taking what we say seriously.

Also, if you stop providing a service that some are seeking, then of course you can expect people to abscond somewhere else. It's not a question of loyalty, it's a question of who's got the best on offer. It's a human thing.
