Me neither. Actually, not many people in Finland had heard of Tolkien before the films came. Sad but true. My swedish-teacher did know of him, but she just mentioned him, and I didn't pay that much attention..

So, though the films aren't anything compared to the books, I'm very glad they were made.

Me too, though just because I love the music for them, and the cool visuals. I have a good imagination, but some of his words confuse me, so the fact that they had such stunning scenery and cool...uh...stuff was rockin'.

And they did make the books more accessible to people. One of my best pals tried to read them but lost interest. After she saw the movies, she read the books again and got into them much more. That makes it worthwhile.

Uh-oh... I've almost always used one of those icons! Does that mark me as an unsophisticated 'mooter?

I initially used the 'ranger' one to mark my identification with the Northern Dunedain... but once I passed 500 posts and got the 'High King at Annuminas' title, I've assumed the role of 'wise, old king'

Silly me! Let me know if I should just drop it...

ah yes, the good 'ole newbie days.
I was a Jacksonite etc...but JD brought me to the light etc...
me and BoP used to be kinda enemies (but now we're-or at least I'm trying to be-dancing partners).
I remember that Gwaimir wa my first buddie, and Dreran was the only thing that kept me from abandoning the moot at one point.
ah yes the good 'ole newbie days...

I'm your buddy too Hector, how did we become friends anyway? We're kindred spirits maybe.

I can't remember either! Maybe the Classical Music thread? I'll work on the MST this weekend. It's almost done, and it's sooo funny, if I do say so myself.

Tis true, he did honourably win! We raced again to 2500 posts, and I won that time. Hector still hasn't reached this new benchmark.

I don't think I've ever used one of those Icons... Didn't JD used to use one?

HB, I don't remember being 'enemies' with you? I remember making a few sarcastic comments, but I make them at everyone.

Excuse me, Lalaith and I are the Soul Mates/Kindred Spirits of Entmoot, don't try to copy us. Thank you!

BoP- Apparently JD used to use that Nazgûl one. (I used it here) He still uses that for PM.

I think that's when we moved from ezboard to vBulletin. Cannot remember right. Dates are becoming so confussing...

No! Yours and Beor's are cool! I chose Bombadil! People got the impression that he was my favorite character and I could see no more deeply into the story and fellowship but to think "Hey, this guy's funny!" (Which is untrue entirely)(The username... right... It just popped into my head; I was in quite a hurry to post and didn't consider it... nothing to do with Bombadil) Hehe... I also didn't recognise ME as an acronymn, and couldn't figure out why everyone was yelling "me."
