What year was that? Because in the last year's world cup, the US was knocked out by Germany in the quarters, not in the semi finals.

And gimli, the US women's team doesn't suck. They were ranked #1 so chances for a Canadian bronze don't look too good

By the way - we know European football (soccer) in the US. There is a New Jerseyan who plays on Manchester United. Soccer is extremely popular in New Jersey.

actually, i am part swedish, and the germans also beat Canada, so ether way we have lost to the gold medalists. any, to the person saying Canada has never made it this far before, it is because soccer is finally being promoted in Canada, and soon we will win the word cup. for mens (yah right) and womens

Well... actually USA is not very good in soccer... I just feel that it didn't play against the really strong teams in the world cup. I mean Poland, Portugal, S. Korea and Mexico are not the top of the world soccer.

Wonder where Norway is on that list, last I heard we were
on 20th place or similar...

The Norwegian team hasn't been any good lately, and if they don't beat Luxenburg tomorrow I'm moving to Denmark or Sweden. (we once beat Luxenburg 16-0, but last time we played we only won 5-1 [or something, numbers and dates aren't exactly my best side])

Where did you find that? I just looked at fifa's women world ranking and US is first, Norway is second, and Germany is third.

and US didn't play Poland, Portugal, or Mexico. They played Sweden, Nigeria, Korea, and Norway. Who do you think is a really stong team, because from what I can see, the US played against many strong teams. They beat Sweden who is in the finals. Germany was the only team who was stronger than them. Canada looks good and tomorrow we will see who wins (USA)

But every team has played against the not so strong. That's how you eliminate the weak and find out who is better. The US has beaten Germany before and given another chance, I think they could beat them again

Falagar, Sweden is not in the 20th place. it can, though, be 21st. I have the best 20. (and yet I doubt it's 35, by how it played lately)

I believe that when it comes to women's soccer, the Swedish team is 4th. The US is 1st.
