A great quote from the Disney Davy Crockett [Fess Parker]:

"Be sure you're right, and then go ahead."

It's up to you....oo hooo....like Davy Crockett said.....

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." Ok, last year i had to come up with 10 Orignal Proverbs (and some good advice). Some are hillarious, others are corny, others just suck! But hey, I got a B+ on them.

NOTE: they don't get good til later on in the list, there are only 10 so read em all. Remember, I was younger then

1. Eat smart and be health (yes, the first one sucks, read on).

2. Always back up your hardrive.

3. On the internet, not everyone is who they appear to be.

4. Never leave a Chad hanging.

5. Don't dance with a bear.

6. You do not become the President of the US simply by sitting in the oval office.

7. One musician doesn't make a band.

8. A frog will never be a prince, no matter how many times you kiss him.

9. If a tree falls in a forest, get out of the way.

10. Never sit on your backpack if it carries luch.

Ok, mostly stupid. But I liked 4, 9, and 10.

#5 is sorta an inside joke. Ppl will get it if they remember the muppet pre-show thingy at Lowes that they used to have. The on that goes "Don't forget to watch the movie, ..."

People who generalize are all idiots. - Don't know who.

There are only three kinds of people in the world: those who can count and those who can't. (Apparently I belong to the second type!)

This must be a record breaker for the oldest thread bumped.

I don't quote people often, but I keep these in mind:
"Who's more foolish: the fool or the fool who follows him?"--George Lucas or Obi Wan Kenobi

"We never know how tall we are
Till we are called to rise,
And then, if we are true to plan,
Our statures touch the skies.

The heroism we recite
Would be a daily thing,
Did not ourselves the cubits warp
For fear to be a king."
--Emily Dickinson

"If I have seen farther than others, it it because I was standing on the shoulders of giants."--Isaac Newton

"What are you gonna do?"--myself, all the time, and not rhetoric (quick and easy way to admit and accept difficulty you can't deal with, or good way to go about business effeciently)

Almost anything said by Mark Twain. I was looking for one specifically on Google, but everything that came up I liked.
