ANNOUNCEMENT - ON PRESIDENTIAL TERMS AND FUTURE ELECTIONS:

We discussed this among the Mod/Admin staff, and we plan to make some changes. Here's what we're thinking:

1. Presidential terms will henceforth be two years (more or less).

2. Elections will generally be either end March/start April - or end April/start May. Sorry - but this will have to totally depend on how 'on the ball' the staff is that particular year (we admit we weren't all that much this year ).

3. Because we felt the early campaigning took so much steam out of the election itself, campaigning will now be restricted to the last few months preceding the election. Specifically, candidates must wait until all time zones have cleared JRR Tolkien's birthday before they are allowed to campaign.

Hey! When I voted for my candidate, it was for a four-year term! I feel disrespected as a voter

Otherwise I'm okay with Val's and the admins'/mods' rules. I just wonder if anyone will be eager to campaign in two years, when there are no upcoming presidential elections in the US? The primaries are what sparked the Entmoot elections back in 2000, 2004 and this year. I doubt the midterm elections in 2010 will generate the same enthusiasm...
