Why do I ask? Because I want to draw attention to myself. It is a concious cry for help; I am reaching out. Thanks for the prozac - it'll go nicely with my St John's Wort.

Well, try a massage and some aroma therapy too. Finish off with chocolate washed down with a little Dwarvish ale. Good Luck.

must...not...get...sucked...off-topic...
I wanted to respond to XRogue's post from June about parents hiding books. It reminded me of when I was a kid. I loved ghost stories, Poe, etc. I was reading an excellent ghost story one time before bed (it was more of a love story/ mystery), and my mom bursts in the room. It made me jump and she freaked out about my reading scary stuff and TOOK THE BOOK AWAY! I hadn't finished reading the story and it was so good! I begged her to give it back to me so I could just finish that one story the next day, but she wouldn't. I never got it back and it apparently got lost when we moved. I can't remember the author but it was about a letter this guy found in a secret compartment in an old desk. So I guess I'll never find out what happened. I still gripe about that to her. |

The above post made me think of something about my own son when he was small. He had a story book that he loved when he was little about a fireman and his fire truck. One day I found the book hid beneath the matress of his bed. When I asked him why it was there, he told me that that was where uncle Dave puts all his good books. When I spoke to dear brother Dave, he informed me that the little one caught him stashing a Playboy and that was his explanation to the child. I dare say at twenty now he probably has his own stash of Playboys replacing Willy Woowoo. The things we moms go through.

All kids drive me crazy, but I think that's because I'm getting old.

My Mum just saw me looking some LOTR thing on the internet and said I was obsessed. I think my decline has begun.

Well, it doesn't have to be a parent kid thing to be told you're obssessed. I get told that all the time.

Hehe, so do I. Still,I'm a young parent (31) now, with my own kids, and we enjoy reading stuff together. It's kinda fun reading the Hobbit with them now. Side note: my parents finally got over it and are reading Tolkien now. And they apologized. I don't think they ever realized how angry their attitude made me back then. I'm glad they have relaxed.
Kids are great things to have, BTW.

ooh, 'kids who drive you crazy!' I like...kids drive me crazy. Even if I am only 18
My parents are really annoying me now, but it's more about gaming than Tolkien, so this would be the wrong place to complain about it...
