Sorry - I watched it. If you were REALLY interested you would have made sure you got up for the announcement.

i was really nterested. My cat just hit my alarm clock during the night, turning the alarm off. Its not the first shes done that, she has caused me to sleep in for school as well.

2010 - Hey, I'll be 32! Hehe, enough time to learn to ski né? (then I can be the first South African to compete [or are there SA's that compete?] dunno - I doubt it since we don't do half the sports they have there)...............even more important I'll be reaching me peak! (dunno if I wanna spend it in the ice & cold of Canada though

But congratulations to Vancouver for getting it, I'm sure they'll put up a good show

ill be 23, the best age to enjoy it. Ill be an alcoholic of 4 years (jking), but ill be on my own, and it will be one hell of a good time. Also, Vancouver is not that cold. We are the only province in Canada that never goes below -2 C, and thats only in the Interor, were the games are gonna be, its never below 0 C, which sucks because i never see snow

Sh*t, if you put it terms of alcohol, I'd have ritually abused me liver & kidneys for close on 18 years

What do you mean not that cold? God, -2ºC? Hell, I'm not used to Winter minimums dropping below 5ºC!!!!!! *wishes for shivering smily to fall from sky* brrrrrrrrrrrrr......... I've only seen snow once in my life & I had to travel quite a distance to do so.......wasn't all that great

youd get used to it pretty quick. I had 2 people who are SA's in my elementry school, and they both got used to it pretty quickly. It rarely gets cold in Vancouver anyways.

I could prolly survive, provided the pubs are warm

(and the beer cold). And if I wore about 7 layers of clothing.............and never ventured outside...............and strapped hot water bottles to my body..............and wrapped myself in bearskins...............do you think they would consider making Beer Guzzling an Olympic sport?

(I'm absolutely dreading the cold of Europe in December.........I'm gonna go from temps of 32ºC here to about 0ºC!

(personally I don't think there has been a winter olympics worth watching since 1988 when Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards managed to land without breaking his neck at the 1988 W Olympics anyway

)

Anyhoo..........congrats to you for getting to host this auspicious event.....mebbe by the time it comes around the UK will have managed to "encourage" another competitor to lauch himself into the air at 80mph on a couple of planks of wood
