And you're from "the cow state"... a blemish on the face of commercialism. You should be ashamed of yourself. Your father's father's father's father once ate an entire cow within two weeks, I'll warrant.

I jest. I'm a moderate omnivore. I have limits on what I eat. On the other side of the spectrum, you have people like my brother, who has eaten hamster and orders taco de lengua (cow tongue)... *shudder*. I suppose I could do that, but unless it's necessary, pass the 'burgers, please.

Without meat one would die at passover. In fact without meat why bother living the rest of year. No Salami, what a loss!

Hey, animals want to be eaten, just read Restaurant at the End of the Universe! Mmm I'm drooling thinking of a pot roast cooked so long the meat just melts in your mouth, the fat imbuing it all with a suprising sweetness

this is a good thread. theres nothing better than a 20oz porterhouse. it makes me feel powerful. i grew up on a farm so the killing the poor animal stuff doesnt bother me. its not the killin but the eating part i like. i respect veggitarians tho, but i dont like that meat is murder crap. when u eat a veggie wasnt it alive at one time? killing a living thing is still killing, whats the diff in animals and plants?

Would chitlins count as meat? (That's pig intestines for those of you not from the South) I've never eaten them, though. How about haggis? (never tried it) Or caviar? (surprisingly good) Just wondered. I love all kinds of meat. Especially a good old McDonald's hamburger or some chicken and dumplins... mmm.

Actually, I was talking about the farmers who feed their cows mashed up marrow, and bone.... read the thread carefully. And it was all tongue in cheek anyway, can't you people tell a joke when you see one? Ah, Geez.... alright, alright, I'll put smilies after it next time, so you can tell....

And now I'll end with a piece of information:

"Meat eaters, besides increasing their risks of cardiovascular diseases, various cancers and obesity, also run the risk of osteoporosis. Animal protein has the effect of reducing the intake of calcium. ... When animal protein is replaced by soy protein, much less calcium is lost."

Thank you for the info. I learned something new today.

However, it won't do me any good if I stop. I am just too crazy about espresso blends which are worse.

Again, thanks. I'll tell my other friends about it.

Artist/Band Worms Arrogant
Song title Carrot Juice Is Murder
Album Live Bait

Lyrics listen up brothers and sisters come hear my desperate tale
i speak of our friends of nature trapped in the dirt like a jail
vegetables live in oppression, served on our tables each night
this killing of veggies is madness, i say we take up the fight
salads are only for murderers, coleslaw's a facist regime
don't think that they don't have feelings, just cause a radish can't scream

Chorus:
i've heard the screams of the vegetables (scream, scream, scream)
watching their skins being peeled (having their insides revealed)
grated and steamed with no mercy (burning off calories)
how do you think that feels (that it hurts really bad)
Carrot juice constitutes murder (and that's a real crime)
Greenhouses prisons for slaves (let my vegetables go)
it's time to stop all this gardening (it's dirty as hell)
let's call a spade a spade (is a spade is a spade is a spade)

I saw a man eating celery, so i beat him black and blue
if he ever touches a sprout again, i'll bite him clean in two
i'm a political prisonner, trapped in a windowless cage
cause i stopped the slaughter of turnips by killing five men in a rage
i told the judge when he sentenced me "this is my finest hour"
i'd kill those farmers again just to save one more cauliflower

Chorus

how low as people do we dare to stoop,
making young broccolis bleed in the soup
untie your beans, uncage your tomatoes
let potted plants free, don't mash that potato
oh spare the spud! Eat a cow instead!

I've heard the screams of the vegetables (scream, scream, scream)
watching their skins being peeled (fates in the stir-fry are sealed)
grated and steamed with no mercy (you fat gourmet slob)
how do you think that feels (leave them out in the field)
Carrot juice constitutes murder (V8's genocide)
greenhouses prisons for slaves (yes, your composts are graves)
it's time to stop all this gardening (take up macrame)
let's call a spade a spade
(is a spade, is a spade, is a spade, is a spade......)

Power to the peas! Give peas a chance!
all we are saying, is give peas a chance

Probably not...my father's father's father was from Ireland, not Wisconsin. But for all I know, he may have!

I would just like to state that the reason why a virus was released on the rabbits of NZ was because they are a non-native species whom were makeing for more and more competition on the NATIVE wildlife. Same goes for many of the deer species, theres a decent sized bounty on red-deer there.

Meat is tasty, I like it lots, fish too. But theres no reason to piss off the vegetarians over it even if it is just a joke.

Soy protein healthier then meat? That's rediculous. Diet is very subjective. For us O positives (if you listen to the Eat Right for your Type diet, which seems pretty accurate) meat is a very neccessary part of our diet. I know I just don't feel right if I don't know my dinner suffered a brutal, bloody death.
