Gil-Galad was son of Fingon son of Fingolfin son of Finwe. So he was Noldor mostly. Though Fingolfin's mother was Indis of the Vanyar it is stated that only Finarfin's house was blondwe so obviously Fingolfin iherited his father's traits. Finrod and Galadriel however definitely are blonde.

Did he have a name tag on in the battle ? Maybe they had their names and numbers on the back of their mail ? Must admit Ive never noticed it was ilgalad before , but I will be searching for it next time !

I must admit, I had seen Gil Galad as having blonde or silver hair, but that was because I read that his name meant starlight. Don't elves have pale skin, and whatever hair they come up with (except i've never heard of a red-headed elf!)

That is the bit that I am on about. I didn't see him in the battle scenes but then again I wasn't looking. It is too late now, since the movie has left the cinema.
